Texas is... BACK-TO-BACK NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!

The team I'm looking forward to follow throughout this blog is the women's volleyball team of the University of Texas at Austin, also known as the Longhorns. The Longhorns competes in NCAA Division 1 and has won five volleyball national championships in their school history - one AIAW championship in 1981 and four NCAA championships in 1988, 1012, 2022, and 2023. The team consistently ranks among the top in the country and competes in the Big 12 Conference.  As you can tell, Texas is a very intense team, which makes it so interesting to watch. I've decided to follow this team because when I watched their match against Nebraska at the 2023 NCAA finals the longhorns really inspired me. Texas was considered the underdog coming into the NCAA Champion this season, however they dominated. Ranked No.2 Texas beat No.1 Nebraska 3-0 to win their back-to-back NCAA Championship. I thought there would be many people around the world who wants to know more about the Texas volleyball team and I thought I would make posts about them and help people stay engaged in this sport.

Texas volleyball is known for its strong program and passionate fan base. The longhorns have a strong fan base that supports them with enthusiasm. The atmosphere in the stadium is electric, with fans cheering and chanting for their team. As well as their strong fanbase, their team is even stronger. Undefeated at 12-0 this season, the longhorns statically have the most powerful attack in the country. They lead NCAA Division 1 teams with a .322 hitting percentage, which is six percentage points higher than No. 2 Louisville. Texas has two first-team All-Americans, outside hitter Madisen Skinner and middle blocker Asjia O’Neal. Skiner and O’Neal leads the most points scored for the longhorns with an outside hitter Jenna Wenaas, who together average about 11.5 points per set. Madisen and Asjia are also very well known to many NBA fans as their fathers played in the league for multiple years. Wenass is in her first season at Texax after transferring from Minnesota.

Texas have a rich history of success and have produced many talented players who have gone on to play professionally. The matches are always full of energy and excitement. Texas is definitely worth watching if you are a sports fan!
